CHURCH GOVERNMENT in SCRIPTURE

Spiritual Authority:Matthew16

18

LukeAnd when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say: 12.11When thou goest with thine adversary to the MAGISTRATE, as thou art in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him; lest he hale thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison. 12.58Paul teaches God’s order of Government in each epistle:

God's Ordained Authority as Given in Sinai Covenant

Romans 13

Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God *: the powers that be are ordained of God.

[NOTE: Ordained is not predestined. Ordained is approved. How can any person possessing even the least degree of intelligence believe that Adolf Hitler, Vladimir Lenin, Joseph Stalin, Pol-Pot, Idi Amin, Saddam Hussein, and the great mass-rapists and butchers of the ages were "Ministers of God for Good" as Scripture says below?]

Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

[NOTE: Scripture equates resisting the 'power' (of rulers) equal to resisting the ordinance of God which is His personal, inspired, inerrant, infallible, unchangable Law, for all of humanity of all peoples, places and ages.

Thus Scripture is referring to the Priests and High Priests, the Prophets, and the Judges - all ordained from the beginning - and later the Kings, who were always subject to the prophets and High Priest.]

For rulers [Archon – Str 758] are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid ; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.

For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.

Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: Therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake * out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

The night is far spent *, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.

But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

**Romans 14** Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations. For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs. Let not him [the individual] that eateth despise him [the individual] that eateth not; and let not him [the individual] which eateth not judge him [the individual] that eateth: for God hath received him [the individual]. Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.

One man [the individual] esteemeth one day above another *: another esteemeth every day alike.Let every man [the individual] be fully persuaded in his own mind.

He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.

For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.

For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or * * die, we are the Lord's.For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living. But why dost thou judge thy brother? or * * why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord *, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.

I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.

But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably *. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.

Let not then your good be evil spoken of: For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

For he that in these things serveth Christ is I] acceptable to God, and II] approved of men.

Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another. For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.

It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby * * thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.

Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.

And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

GOAL!To MAKE Gentiles OBEDIENT

Ro 15:18 For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed,

I Corinthians[1] I Cor 1:10,

[2] But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power. 4.19 For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power. 4.20 What will ye ? shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love, and in the spirit of meekness? 4.21

[3] It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife. 5.1And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you. 5.2

For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed,5.3In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, 5.4 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. 5.5

Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, 12:28 Supernatural gift of the Holy Spirit in GovernmentTitusThese things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee. 2.15Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work, 3.

Hebrew1] Let every soul be subject unto the higher-power [ruler] who watches FOR you Soul! [Heb 13:17]

2] Holy Spirit has gift of Government

3] Holy Spirit has gift of Government

‘Higher-Power’ is simply ruler! Ruler by definition is a 'Higher Power'

[1] Let every soul [Heb 13:17] be subject unto spiritual authority including elected- [1849] ruling-elders [5242] , for there is no true-&-lasting authority except of God, and the offices of authority that exist are arranged in order [5021] ordained by God! Children subject your parents [Eph 6:1] [Col 3:20] Wives subject unto their husbands [Eph 5:22] [Col 3:18] Servants unto masters [Eph 6:4] [Col 3:22] All unto Ruling Elders [Heb 13:7, 17, 24] Ruling Elders submit to each other [Eph 5: 21] Men unto Christ [I Cor 11:3] Church unto Christ [Eph 5:24]

II Peter2:10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities. [2] Whosoever therefore resisteth spiritual authority is resisting the ordained-arrangement [1296] of God! They that resist shall receive to themselves greater damnation!

Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God *: the powers that be are ordained of God.

Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

For rulers [Archon – Str 758] are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

III JohnI wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence among them, receiveth us not.Wherefore *, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith *, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the church. 9-10

Revelation1] Jesus commends Ephesus for having Church trials!

2.2 I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:

And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. 2.26-27
