Consider for a moment the "Statue of Liberty" standing on Liberty Island, New York City, U.S.A. It is one of the largest, greatest and grandest statues ever made. We all recognize it, adore it, are inspired by its glory, and even have a certain reverence for what it represents:
Yet the Statue of Liberty is full of Mystery!
>> What is this Great Statute of Liberty all about?
>> Who is "The Person" of the Great Statute of Liberty?
>> What did the Author and Architect have in mind who conceived, designed, and developed it?
>> What did the Author intend for the Great Statute of Liberty represent?
>> Is there a "REST of the STORY!"
The world at large is totally ignorant of the true answers, which are neither acceptable or allowable: in this "politically correct" modern age.
Official US Government Statue of Liberty Website Admits Confusion & Change!
The story of the Statue of Liberty is a story of change. The people of France gave the Statue to the people of the United States over one hundred years ago in recognition of a friendship established during the American Revolution.
Over the years, the meanings of the Statue have grown until 'she' has become an international icon of freedom and liberty [or whatever anyone makes it to be], the most recognizable symbol of democracy in the world.

* Some say "occult symbolism" lies behind the real meaning the famed statue of liberty,
* Others say it has symbolism of Free Masonry; However, there is no statue that represents the Masons.
* Some say it symbolizes inner character and purpose of the USA as a democracy; Again, there is no statue that represents the USA except the Eagle, perhaps.
* Some say it represents a false goddess, such as "Columbia" - said by history to be "the goddess of the Americas" (female): However, the Great Statue of Liberty looks NOTHING like the America goddess Columbia:
Columbia, goddess of the Americas
* Some say the Roman Sun-god Apollo; (male) However, the Great Statue of Liberty looks NOTHING like the America goddess Columbia:
Roman Sun-god Apollo
* Some say it represents the god of Egypt, Isis; (female) However, the Great Statue of Liberty looks NOTHING like the Egyptian goddess Isis:

* Some say the Greek Sun-god Helios; (male - Called Titan by Homer, and adopted by Alexander the Great for his own); However, the Great Statue of Liberty looks NOTHING like the Greek god Helios:
the Greek god Helios
* Some say the ancient Colossus of Rhodes, (male) However, the Great Statue of Liberty looks NOTHING like the nearly-nude, muscular Colossus of Rhodes, though the crown is similar: (However this crown was also worn by the Roman Sun god Sol Invictus);
the Colossus of Rhodes
* Some say the statue is based on the appearance of Libertas, who was the Roman goddess of freedom; (female) However, the Great Statue of Liberty looks NOTHING like the Roman god Libertas: who never has the great spoked-crown, and either wears curled hair or the hat of 'shaved-headed recently-freed' slave;
the Roman god Libertas (Go down the page) [See the crown of Sol Invictus (Also Mithra to Persians)]
Sol Invictus - Mithra, and Statue of Liberty * Some say it represents anti-monarchy, or anti-slavery; Could be, but who decides and how would one know?
* Others say the statue and message has strong Judaeo-Christian overtones; Could be, but who decides and how would one know?
* Basic Fact Sheet in Footnotes (1)

There are many myths and the world has never agreed, not even whether the statue was to be male or female! There are many myths and the world has never agreed, not even Some myths say sculptor copied the looks of his wife or mother. Others say he copied explicitly ancient Male Gods!

The Truth Will Please many and Anger Others:
THESIS: Ancient History and Extensive Symbolism show the great Statue to be that of the "Christ of Liberty" - Jesus of Nazareth.
[1] The "Great Statue's" proper name is "Liberty Enlightening the World."
No ancient god or goddess ever represented "Liberty" - "Enlightenment" (Light of Knowledge) - and "Breaking the Chains of Slavery and Oppression" and "absolute Rule of Law"
Sacred Scripture is clear that Jesus Christ and He alone is the "Light of the World!" Jesus was so prophesied from the earliest prophets including prophecies to Mary His Mother, Simeon and others.
"'I AM' the Light of the World!" All who ever came before me were impostors! --Jesus Christ of Nazareth: AD 33
[2] The "Great Statue" represents "Liberty" as does America's Liberty Bell, as taken from the First Democracy on Earth: Israel.
Hebrew Scriptures, Leviticus 25:10 "And ye shall...proclaim LIBERTY throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof:"
Jesus Christ Himself claimed to be the fulfillment of this command:
Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the spiritually blind (enlightenment), to set at LIBERTY them that are bruised,
[3] The "Great Statue" is attired in a "Robe" - as that associated with Jesus of Nazareth at Crucifixion, and the Vision of the returning Christ in the Revelation Chapter-1:
Revelation 1:13 "And in the midst of the light of the Torch in the right Hand, one like unto the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the with a golden girdle.
[4] The "Great Statue" stands with the Right Arm extended - not the "left" - holding high a flaming torch.
The Hebrew Scripture repeated most often in the Christian Scriptures is that Jesus Christ would forever be at the RIGHT HAND of the Father, Ruling and Reigning the Earth!
[5] The "Great Statue's" holding high a Flaming Torch represents the "Great Light" - as brilliant as Seven Stars (seven for fullness of light) - held in the Right Hand of Jesus as seen in the Revelation Chapters one and two.
[6] The "Great Statue's" crown with 'huge spikes symbolizing the rays of the sun' rests on the head, also identifies Christ with the Vision of Jesus in The Revelation Chapter 1:
Re 1:16 And he had in his right hand seven stars (Light of the Bright Torch):...and His appearance was as the Sun.
[7] The "Great Statue's" feet hold "a broken shackle" symbolizing the overthrow of "slavery" - as the Hebrews were freed out of Egypt, "Proclaiming Liberty", which slavery of sin, addiction, and oppression Jesus said His Ministry was to achieve for the world!
Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the spiritually blind (enlightenment), to set at LIBERTY them that are bruised,
[8] The "Great Statue's" left arm hold The Tablets of the Law of God's Word: The Great Ten Commandments.
The great "secret" of all freedom and Liberty is for all people to "Obey the Law" - Kings, presidents, rich and poor, all races, peoples, genders: ALL obey the LAW! Power changes hands peacefully! No exceptions ever allowed!
Psalm 119:44-45 So shall I keep thy law continually for ever and ever. And I will walk at liberty:
EVEN GOD OBEYS HIS LAW!
[9] The "Great Statue's" right foot is up to signify the Statue is Walking, moving forward, covering Earth with its Principles;
Genesis 13:17 Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee.Genesis 22:18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be BLESSED;
Joshua 1:3 Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.
[10] The "Great Statue's" Crown signifies Christ's "CROWN of Crowns", the Great Conquest by Christian Liberty over many nations.
[11] The "Great Statue's" base upon which it rests, is modeled after a Temple, the dimension scale approaching the Jewish Temple of Solomon - though not loudly proclaimed - for anti-Semitic bias: rather left to self discovery
The "Great Statue's" Message: "What is it about?"
AS much as We Americans and dedicated Patriots would like this statue to be about America and the greatness of the United States, there is not a shred of symbolism or wording that is even connected to the USA.
The Great Statue would be just as appropriate in Sydney Harbour, Australia; Harbor of Rio de Janerio, Brazil; or the Harbor of Haifa, Israel.
Let us look at the Words on the Great Statue, carefully:
The "Great Statue's" Message: "Not About Americas!"
"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift My Lamp beside the Golden Door!”
The "Great Statue's" Message: "A call to Salvation!"
Hear Jesus of Nazareth say the same Thing:
> "Come unto Me ALL ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give your rest! (Matt)
> "I am the Door" to the 'Golden City' (John 10)
> "I am the Light of the World!"
> "Whosoever will let them come" (John 6)
> Whosoever cometh unto me I will in no-wise cast out! (John 6)

FOOTNOTE (2)
His work was greatly influenced by the ancient sculptor Phidias who made gigantic statues of the ancient goddesses, particularly Athena, the "goddess of wisdom" and Nemesis (another name for Venus), a goddess who held a cup in her right hand.
Before beginning the statue of liberty project, Bertholdi was seeking a commission to construct a giant statue of the goddess "Isis," the Egyptian Queen of Heaven, to overlook the Suez canal.
The statue of Isis was to be of "a robed woman" (Statue of Liberty: 1st Hundred Years, Bernard Weisberger, p.30, quoted in Beyond Babylon, James Lloyd, p.103).
