I believe this is the greatest opportunity God has given me to share these very great secrets which I have encountered in God’s Word concerning getting jobs. Ever since I discovered them, I have been sharing them with many precious brethren who are jobless.
A very amazing thing is that everyone I have shared them with, after some few days, has come back with results, including those who had not been working for years. They come back with letters of appointment in their hands. And many of them end up being promoted while still on probation simply because of this knowledge they got.
Here at our Church, I have heard testimonies of brethren who have been promoted, their salaries increased, others put in big offices of responsibility without relevant qualification papers.
And yet others have acquired such great wisdom to open and run new businesses when I shared this knowledge with them.
It’s true that so many precious brethren are being retrenched, implicated in money scandals, and so many are jobless. But with this information they can have dramatic encounters with the job anointing that will transform them into job ful (oriented) persons.
I believe with all my heart that today as you read this book, the anointing of God will fall heavily upon you and you will be turned into another man, a job-ful man, and a man they will look at and envy. As a man of colour, you will be turned into a king from a beggar.
It is written in 1 Samuel 10:6,
“And the Spirit of the LORD will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man.”
Reading this information will cause the Spirit of God to fill your life and prepare you for a job. The anointing of a job will fall on you in Jesus’ name. I see you walk majestically out of joblessness forever. Lack ceases in your life from today. You cease to be a prayer project in Jesus’ name.
As you move into this anointing, you will instead be promoted while others are being retrenched. Never from today will your name ever appear on any retrenchment sheet in Jesus’ name. And all God’s people said AMEN.
The Beginning of the Horrors of Joblessness
Now let’s ask ourselves this ageless question: When did joblessness begin?
To my surprise I discovered that joblessness or unemployment began in the spiritual world!! A certain angel known as Lucifer was the first one to be retrenched. Joblessness today, this sudden retrenchment, and failure to pay wages promptly, is not of a human source. The devil is the unemployed cherub who used to cover God’s presence.
As we read in Isaiah 14:12 it says:
“How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning? How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations?”
Falling from heaven means getting thrown out of work!
It means becoming unemployed. The son of the morning star lost his estate. He was cut down, he was laid off. Prophet Isaiah gives us this revelation. He was overwhelmed to discover that in eternity past, someone lost his job! And so terrible was the loss that Jesus testified and said,
“I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.”(Luke 10:18).
Satan lost his estate, his office, and his job. He is the first one in scripture to be mentioned as fallen before he comes to appear in the garden. Now let’s check out his employment in heaven.
Ezekiel 28:13 says;
“Thou hast been in the Garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering…”
So here we discover that this fellow had a place of appointment, where he had to be and to work. This place was the Garden of God. He had been placed there to work not to have a good time. And God gave him such great glory while he was in that place. He was a glorious being.
In verse 14 it says:
“Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.”
Verse 15 says: “Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.”
First of all, Lucifer was in the Garden of God called Eden. So God had employed him in the Garden. Lucifer was anointed for work. An angel anointed to cover, and God said, “ I have set thee so…” So it was his job which he did so perfectly until iniquity set in.
And Lucifer was upon the Holy Mountain of God walking up and down in the midst of stones of fire, doing his work. Lucifer at the beginning was perfect, until iniquity was found in him, until evil intentions began to emerge. Then he was cast out of his office and was thrown out of heaven.
He was never assigned any other job. He lost his job and therefore he cannot be happy to see you work. He is the one now responsible for that unemployed situation around your life.
It’s not true therefore that inflation and the poor economy has led people have no jobs. Joblessness is a spiritual issue. It began with the devil in the spirit world, and today there are angels who were one time employed, but now jobless seeking to destroy every one working. Their Chief is the greatest deceiver, the world has ever known according to the scriptures.
These fallen angels are the ones encroaching on the church with lies telling believers that they should not work. In Revelation 12:9 it says:
“And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him”
He was cast out into the Earth with his angels. So there are millions and millions of unemployed spiritual beings loitering the Earth. So no wonder the unemployment in the world. It didn’t begin yesterday. You are not the only one suffering in it. What do you think these fallen beings are busy doing?
They are deceiving people every day discouraging them from work.
Unemployment in the Human Race
The Bible has clearly showed us how joblessness began in the spirit world. It was the devil who began it in the entire creation. The Scripture has shown that he fell down on the Earth, and so he must have come with it. A jobless person is a dangerous one. He is idle and disorderly all the time.
Such a person wants quick gains without working; he advocates for shortcuts where time and trust are required, and hear this; the devil and his angels together, make a whole unemployed kingdom.
So let us see how unemployment landed into the human race. In the beginning, God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion….” So after God had made man, He gave him work and it was called, DOMINION. In Genesis 2:8 it says,
“And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.”
This is very interesting, are you discovering that God had done the same thing with Lucifer? In Ezekiel we read that God made a Garden of Eden, in the mountain of God and put Lucifer there.
Now watch it, God has created man and has again planted a Garden in Eden but this time he has put man instead. In Genesis 2:15 it says:
“And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.”
So God put man in a place to work which at one time belonged to Lucifer. This is the Garden he lost. Lucifer must be envious and wished man to lose it also. Man was given a very powerful job on Earth. Dominion was and still is the highest job.
God never wanted man to just loiter around on the earth. He gave him work and food. Adam was not going to fend for himself. God had offered him his protection. He was covered by the Glory of God. God gave him work to do and made him a responsible person.
Remember that this was God’s Garden. It was God’s idea, so man not the owner. And all that man had to do was follow the instructions of his master. Adam was fully employed, fully dressed, and blessed to multiply anywhere, anyhow, anytime. He was so busy that he needed a partner. So again God gave him one, a sweet woman, an help-meet for him alone. And though they were naked, that they were not ashamed.
So God’s principle is this: when he creates man he gives him or her a job. This is a powerful principle. Every man living on planet earth therefore ought to have a job. In Adam’s time he was to dominate the Earth from the Garden, which he was keeping and dressing.
The same principle applies today. Everyone created by God has a Garden; a place of abundance just for him. In Genesis 2:8 it says:
“And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that’s pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the Tree of Life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. And a river went out of Eden to water the garden:”
From scripture above we notice certain things. First we notice the beauty of this garden. It had trees pleasant to the sight. It was a pleasurable place, full of comfort and very inspiring.
Secondly, there was food and this food was good. This garden had every good thing the man needed in it. It was a place of abundance. Adam and Eve had more than enough for enjoyment. In Genesis 2: 12 – 13 it says:
“And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone.”
Thirdly, the Garden was full of riches. It had gems in it. From the beginning, Adam had gold and precious gems at his disposal. God intended for Adam to live a wealthy, and a healthy life. I believe God has not changed his mind even today.
For every one living on this planet, there’s a Garden for him or her, and there’s a partner for him or her. We need to start to believe God for our own Gardens. Whatever it may be, there must be a Garden for you. This Garden gave Adam real fun, pleasure and fulfillment. There was no room to borrow. He never saw lack.
In Genesis 3: 1 – 3 it says:
“Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath, God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, we may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, Yea shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.”
Satan used his most cunning craftiness to entice the woman. Eve responded according to the knowledge she was carrying. And up to this point, we don’t see any danger yet, and I am sure she also had not sensed any danger. Eve did not know she was responding to a lie, but we should not forget why the devil has pulled out his lies to deceive Eve.
It was not about the tree really. We should not forget that this was his place of abode. His scheme therefore is to dislodge man, as his predecessor. Since this is where man was working, now you see it clearly: the devil was after Adam’s work. I wonder whether Eve knew the Genesis of her Garden.
So in Genesis 3:4 – 5 it says
“And the serpent said unto the woman, Yea shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day yea eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and yea shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.”
Oh! If Eve knew, she would have responded, “No devil, God cannot lie”. In Numbers 23:19 it says, “God is not a man, that he should lie….” In Titus 1:2 it says: “God, that cannot lie…” Eve should have jumped up and said: “Devil, you are a liar, God cannot lie”.
The scripture tells us that even Adam was near there just silent. The devil was not after the tree. What would he gain if they ate? Would he say, “Oh, that fruit was nice”? No, he was after the Garden. What he was talking about was not the subject matter. He was aiming at something else.
The fact is the devil was unemployed and was looking for someone to recruit into his army of the unemployed. He hadn’t come to the woman to convince her to eat of the tree just for the sake of it – No. But he was looking for an opportunity to make them jobless. To move them from employment to unemployment. And he succeeded. In Genesis 3: 23 it says:
“Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the Garden to till the ground from whence he was taken. So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the Garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way to the Tree of Life.”
Amazing! Adam also lost the garden. This is very sad. Very sad indeed and it is responsible for the suffering of humanity today. Ever since man became unemployed, he has been tilling the land, not for employment, but for survival. Man lost his first job.
In Romans 3: 23 it says:“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God;”
He lost the garden, lost the glory, lost the job and he lost his life. They died spiritually. So all became unemployed. All began surviving, not living. And so it is today. Most people are not employed, much as they work hard. They are simply surviving, trying to get ends meet.
Sad to say, so many born-again children of God are also simply surviving. They haven’t discovered their Gardens yet in order to have their employment. All humanity fell from God’s glory, and lost employment through the sin of one. The Employer hates sin, and as long as it’s part of you, God cannot employ you.
That’s why in the Old Testament, offering of sacrifices never ceased. And in Genesis 4, children were born to Adam in this fallen state, very poor and just surviving. So how did unemployment land into the human race? It was through Adam and Eve.
So you shouldn’t blame inflation, or the government. This is a very spiritual issue. No hand of man can handle it. It has been like that for centuries. Don’t try to change it with just a word in prayer. Be determined, be bold. Look the devil right into his face and resist him. He’s the unemployed fellow trying to make every one unemployed all over the place.
Men of Old Tricked into unemployment
Throughout the scriptures we see great men and women being enticed, tempted and moved by Satan to abandon their employment. He uses his cunningness to deceive. He could be talking about something else, yet it was after their work that he targeted.
Those men and women are our great examples to learn from and be ware of the enemy’s vice. The Good God never abandoned his people though they fell. He still came and brought them into their gardens.
We begin with Moses. I believe it was the devil behind the incomplete mission of Moses. We read in Numbers 20: 11-12:
“And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also. And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.”
Now, I have heard so much preached from this scripture. But this revelation had never dawned on me. The reason why God stopped the work of Moses was because Moses did not believe the Lord. Let’s read the scripture again: God said, ‘Because ye believed me not…’ That means something happened to Moses, just like Adam and Eve.
They also did not believe the Lord. They believed the lies of Satan. And so also Moses believed the lies of Satan, and in a moment his job was gone. God had told him to speak to the rock. He instead hit it and that was it. And for Moses, when he lost the job, it was with his life inclusive. He lost both life and job at the same time.
It was the devil who tricked him to think he needed not to follow God’s instruction, yet he had been sent by God. Thank God, Paul said that we are no longer ignorant of his wicked devices. Moses rebelled against God, and lost his employment which he received at the burning bush, while he was simply surviving by tending the sheep of his father-in-law. May God help us to follow the ways of the Lord.
What about Samson? A man who was anointed through the hair – all over him was power…. Exploits to him were his daily bread. He was heavily anointed. He enjoyed his Garden. He killed the Philistines with ease and in style.
There was virtually nothing they could to him until they discovered his source of his power, and somewhere along the line, he missed it. Though I also believe he did his work well, I think the way he finished was not the best. It was the woman he had an affair with that started it all. We read in Judges 16: 16-17
“And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, so that his soul were vexed unto death; that he told her all his heart… if I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man.”
This is no other than the devil, this time in a woman, a lover of Samson. Friend, you know the story. The devil was after disarming Samson to rid him of his Garden. The power, which kept him, employed had to be discovered. The moment he revealed it to that woman, he lost it.
Look at it again, lies of the devil. The woman wanted to know the source of Samson’s power in order to render him powerless, and consequently render him jobless: the issue was not power, it was employment.
It’s written in Judges 16:31 that Samson had judged Israel for 20 years. During this time, while Israel was being ruled by a very mysteriously powerful leader, there was peace on every side. Samson never needed an army: all he had was the Spirit of God. On several occasions he inflicted heavy losses to his enemies. This was his God-ordained employment.
For him to reveal its source therefore, meant loss of his job. So it happened. What do you think would have happened had he not disclosed the mystery of his power? Samson had become invincible! No army could surprise him! He was always the victor! That one man faithful on his job. Oh! When this woman vexed him, it was devil tempting him. In this woman was a living devil.
The devil is the one behind all unemployment in the whole world. I can go on and on through the Scriptures to show how the devil used to mess up great men. Let it suffice to know that the devil that used to render these people useless was dealt with decisively when Jesus died on the cross. Moses was forced out of his garden, and his job as well, but you, thank God for what he did through Jesus.
The devil wants everyone to be unemployed just like him. The devil’s main target in your life is your job. That job makes your destiny. God has filled that job with his glory, that job is real life. In that job – God is glorified. It’s a devil’s target so unattended to by so many children of God.
Friend, you can’t afford to be jobless, you can’t begin to follow the unemployed cherub. As we share deeply into this truth, begin to make up your mind, never to stay one day jobless. The devil is not after your prayers, your tongues, or your anointing, as he is after your job, your employment.
See the life of Job. See how the devil came and attacked him. He wanted Job to curse God and finally become unemployed. In Job 1:8: it says:
“And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God and escheweth evil?”
Friend, the Lord commended Job as long as Job was a servant, employed on the Earth. Job was delighted at his job. Job was in his Garden serving God. Job never thought of the things and the riches he had as his own.
He was a perfect servant, dressing and keeping the garden of God. God was commended him as a servant, not an idle person. And this provoked the devil. So, he came with his tricks and attacks to make Job jobless.
In Job 1:9-10 it says:
“Then satan answered the Lord, and said, doth Job fear God for nought? Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house and about all that he has on every side? Thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.”
Because Job was dedicated at his work, it provoked the devil. And that devil desired was to make him unemployed. The devil told God to put forth his finger and touch all the work that Job was doing! The devil wanted God to destroy Job’s employment. Can you imagine how wicked he is?
We find this in verse 11: it says:
“But put forth thine hand now and touch all that he has, and he will curse thee to thy face.
This has been the devil’s trick from the beginning. And the almighty God could not touch Job’s employment. But He allowed the devil to touch Job’s work – just like it was with Adam and Eve. But Job, was different. He knew how important his job was and from whom it came. So, Job never cursed God, he didn’t doubt God.
When we read that whole chapter and the next, we find that Satan attempted to kill Job. In order, to make him lose his job, the devil wanted to kill him. Job never gave up on life. Job was an upright man, he kept his mouth from cursing his employer, he simply kept his job, until God restored him. This is a powerful example of someone who overcame the devil at his place of work.
A Whole Nation Tricked into Unemployment
Now, the time came when the devil deceived nations. Israel for example was given as a nation the Garden of God. The Promised Land was the Garden of God. Deut. 8:7 says,
“For the Lord thy God bringeth thee into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills:….. vs 9 a land wherein thou shalt eat bread without scarceness, thou shalt not lack any thing in it: a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills thou mayest dig brass.”
This was the Garden of God. In Adam’s garden there was gold, in this promsed land there is brass. God gave the Israelites a large land, a garden, to dress and to keep. God displaced nations, and killed the inhabitants which occupied this land, so that He may give it to the children of Israel.
We know that God by his mighty power dispossessed all the people in the promised land. He removed them because they were wicked. God warned the children of Israel to be obedient to His commands, and He would keep them intact in the land.
In Ezekiel 36:35 it says:
“And they shall say, this land that was desolate is become like the Garden of Eden.”
The Lord talking about the land He gave to the children of Israel. This was a prophecy of restoration after taking them to exile because of their rebellion. To make it look like the Garden of Eden simply means that was not just land, but it was a place of their employment.
If its so, then the enemy must begin his cunningness to displace them from their employment. Again he has to use his tactics. He cannot come out openly. To displace them would mean taking them into exile, away from their land and employment.
So the kings of Israel, King after King, they kept drifting away from God’s ways, prophets were sent among them, but they never listened. God punished them several times when we read in several books of the Bible, but the Israelites were bent on disobeying God by believing the lies of the devil.
All the prophets prophesied their scattering into exile but no one gave heed until God sent them out of the promised land, the garden of God. They were scattered among nations. Their nation was destroyed. Their land was destroyed, they became unemployed. They became slaves and servants of the Gentiles.
In the book of II Chronicles 36: we read of this grim story. All Israel went into captivity and the land was left desolate. A whole nation became unemployed.
In II Chronicles 36:21 it says:
“To fulfill the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbath: for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfill three score and ten years (70 years).”
The devil deceived a whole nation into unemployment. This is a proof that the enemy will fight all he can, to keep you jobless. Whenever Israel had a king that feared the Lord and walked in God’s ways, they enjoyed the garden of God. Their unemployment came as rebellion and transgression against God. If the devil could deceive nations, then take heed. Know your enemy very well.
In our world today, nations are literally begging for food and money. The devil has rendered them unemployed, he has impoverished them through wars and diseases. Nations are getting displaced all the time.
Emigrations are at the highest as we speak ever. We have internally displaced people all around the world. While others are just fleeing from employment. And worst of it all, even children of God have fallen victims of the same.
The enemy’s trick is to render the whole world jobless. He wants to make all its inhabitants unemployed because then God would destroy it. But the church should rise and resist this unemployed cherub. He cannot prevail, he should never touch your employment and you should never open the door for him.
Employment therefore is very important. If nations have been tricked, then I say it again, ‘watch it!’ he is after ours too. God’s plan has always been for us to dominate here on earth through the employment he gives us. We should esteem our jobs and protect them with this knowledge.
Nations must not allow the devil to overtake them through his deception. He is the deceiver of nations.
Lazarus Case Study
In the New Testament, Jesus gave a parable of a certain man called Lazarus who was a beggar. In Luke 16:20 it says:
“And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at the gate, full of sores, and desiring to be fed from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.”
Look at that pathetic situation! A beggar obviously is unemployed. Lazarus was a beggar, he was full of sores, he always desired crumbs. He was reduced to desiring crumbs! And yet God made a garden for him, a place of much. For Lazarus to desire crumbs, abundance was out of his mind long time; he was so sick and isolated. Only dogs could give him some comfort when they licked his sores.
Beggars are by and large beggars by choice. For Lazarus to become a beggar was a choice he made. He was not made a beggar by any man. He was not taught to beg. It must have been the devil who came and deceived him, he lied to Lazarus that he was good for nothing, that he would do nothing, that actually God wanted him sick.
And that, that sickness would bring glory to God. The devil must have pointed to the rich man’s gate and lied to Lazarus to settle for crumbs. It cannot be God who the rich man rich and Lazarus a beggar. It was not god who made him poor. It was not God who made him sick.
The devil deceived him about that sickness, that begging, those sores, that pathetic situation: all were orchestrated by the devil. Lazarus a righteous person believed the devil’s lies. It does not take much to become jobless. Just believing a lie. Lazarus ended up as a beggar at the rich man’s gate eating crumbs yet heaven designed a whole garden for him.
Lazarus could have opposed these lies and become a very vibrant, enterprising righteous man flowing in the blessings of God. Lazarus was not born a beggar. He just believed lies from the devil. Friend, begin opposing these lies. Don’t settle for being a beggar. You have your employment fully secured by God. It’s your time to rise up high.
Now in the next verse 22: Lazarus died as a beggar, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom. Now, there’s a lot we can learn from this. But first, Lazarus went to heaven because he was a righteous man. It was not because he was a beggar, no.
Secondly, I believe the reason he was taken to Heaven into Abraham’s bosom was purposely to teach Lazarus something. Now, Abraham was a man who was fully, employed till he gave up the ghost while he was here on earth. He managed his Garden well. He refused to believe the lies of the devil. The scriptures tell us in Genesis 24:34-35 about Abraham’s servant who went to get a wife for Isaac. It says:
“And he said, I am Abraham’s servant. And the Lord hath blessed my master greatly: and he is become great: and he hath given him flocks, and herds and silver, and gold, and men servants and maid servants, and camels, and asses.”
So Lazarus landed into the bosom of a former tycoon. Am sure Abraham’s work was to teach Lazarus the principles of employment because there was no way Lazarus could live in heaven with a beggar's mentality. So, God took Lazarus into the School of Employment, to teach Lazarus the blessings God had for him.
Abraham had the task of teaching Lazarus the principles of success he learnt while on Earth, which I am thinking again that if Lazarus had learnt and lived them here, he would be one of the teachers in Heaven.
That’s why I believe that this revelation is a gem in your hands. As you learn to be employed according to Godly principles, God will open new things in your life. Never in life will you ever retire or be retrenched. This is very pathetic. But it started from unemployment.
In our days I see so many precious people unemployed. The enemy has deceived them. They know they can’t get jobs because they tried once and again and they failed. Others have not been faithful at their places of work, and so have been cut off. Others are confused; because they have been confused by preachers who claim that employment is worldly, so they even don’t want to work, but to eat, to sleep and the rest.
Others for one reason or another are not working. Surely unemployment is horror. If you are not employed, you are a beggar, trying to survive on other people’s income.
No wonder, entire churches survive on begging and soliciting funds from abroad. Yet members of those churches would go out and find employment and fund God’s work.
Employment according to God’s word is the mystery that unlocks God’s blessings in your life. You can’t afford to be idle and disorderly. Flee from it today.
Seek for employment and fix your eyes on your employer above. You are not safe – if your eyes are looking abroad and not above.
Rich Farmer’s Case Study
Another powerful parable about employment that Jesus gave is found in Luke 12: 16-21. It says:
“And he spake a parable unto them saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: And he thought within himself, saying, what shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? And he said, this will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
And I will say to my soul, soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink and be merry. But God said unto him, thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee, then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”
This parable is full of revelation. But, the first point here is: whenever we go out to work, the ground will respond astoundingly with much much fruit. God honours workers and he will allow them to experience the abundance and overflow that he has. God wants his people to have abundance. God enjoys the prosperity of his servants.
He wants them to be fully employed. He wants his people to live in abundance. But this rich man was acting foolishly, because he listened to the voice of deceit, and so provoking the requisition of his soul, it was because of his foolish actions and thoughts.
This rich man said, I will say to my soul, soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink and be merry. In other words, he was declaring himself retired and jobless. He was saying, I am going to become unemployed, since I have plenty of goods.
This rich man said to his soul – ‘take thine ease’. Have leisure. Get unemployed, be jobless. This is what the rich man was thinking and was about to do. You see actions follow thoughts. He was about to become idle and disorderly.
Again you see the lie of the enemy. This time the enemy has used the plenty that God has brought. When the enemy sees you with plenty, he wants to see you jobless. But however much you possess or get, if you are not adding on anything, you will come to want, very soon. The rich man said, to his soul; eat, drink and be merry. The enemy did not his work directly. He waited for the harvest, then suggested his wicked thoughts.
And this is how the enemy has reduced so many brethren. All they want is to eat, drink and be merry. And after the enemy has convinced them so, he turns around and strikes their resources and reduces those brethren to begging for survival. This should not be. We are not here just to eat, drink and be merry.
When God put Adam and Eve in the garden, eating whatever they wanted was after keeping and dressing the garden. In Gen. 2:15-17 it says:
“And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the Garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, of every tree of the Garden thou mayest freely eat.”
So God wants us to eat whatever we want freely, but it should be after dressing and keeping the garden. Eating here is not the main thing but keeping and dressing the garden. God began with work not food. We eat to live to work. We don’t work to eat to live. Work is the main thing.
So, for this rich man to begin boasting of eating and drinking without dressing and keeping the garden for many years, provoked God to require his soul. Let’s be straight, for you to be eating without working is death. The apostle Paul said in II Thessa. 3:10:
“For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.”
Paul never meant that we get food from work or else he would contradict Jesus when he said in Matthew 6: 25, “Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on…”
So that brother should either work and eat, or be jobless and not eat and die. There’s a powerful revelation here that job and life go together. No job, no life. If you can keep yourself employed you can live as long as you want. When you decide to stop, so goes your life.
We have so many examples of people who refused to work and died. And we have so many who determined to work and lived very long.
The day Adam and Eve surrendered their job, they died. When Moses was enticed to doubt God, he died. When Samson finally released the secret of his employment, he died. The story goes on and on. Look at the apostle Paul. At one time he said in II Timothy 4:7
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith”.
Look at that giant of faith. He said, as for his course, he had finished it. But he had still kept the faith to keep going – just in case the Lord marks out another course for him. Amazing!!
In II Peter 1:14, the apostle Peter said,
“Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ that showed me.”
Wasn’t Peter aware people die any time through accidents and the like? Yes he was, but he also knew that as long as you are employed, you don’t just die. Stop that unemployment mentality, it is a killer. Just be thinking of full employment because when you do so, you release more of your life here on earth.
Abraham’s Case Study
In the Old Testament, Abraham died at 175 after he was full of days and fully satisfied. What was the secret? He kept himself employed.
In Genesis 25: 7-8 it says:
“And these are the days of the years of Abraham’s life which he lived, an hundred three score and fifteen years. Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people.”
One wonders how in the world can someone live that long! But I just want to believe Abraham kept himself so occupied with work and days passed by so fast. In Genesis 24:35 his servant said:
“And the Lord hath blessed my master (Abraham) greatly; and he’s become great: and he has given him flocks, and herds, and silver and gold, and men servants and maidservants, and camels, and asses.”
This means he was working not just sitting at home. Which man owns such wealth and spends hours in bed? He always woke up early and began to run his business empire and making sure everything is well attended to.
So, Abraham was fully employed, and he kept himself on this employment all his life, until he became a very old man, full of years. Those flocks, herds, silver, etc were his business ventures he had to maintain diligently.
The Holy Word presents us with so many other men and women who kept themselves employed and lived long. As a child of God you cannot afford to remain unemployed. Don’t cut your life short.
In the scriptures examples abound of people who worked short, and lived short, and those who worked long and lived long. Make your choice today. To be jobless is to be lifeless. Until you begin to respect that job as a gift from God, the struggle continues.
Let me say it here that, your job, is a representation of your life. So the money you get from there is your very life spent. The rewards you get represent the life you have spent. This is a very powerful mystery. And we want to dig into it.
Now, I hear so many people talk about getting to heaven and be dressed with white linen and get harps, and sing sweet melodies to the lamb of God. Yes, and it’s true, these things shall be in heaven. But let’s examine these things closely. First of all, Jesus said a lot about heaven. In Mathew 6:19 it says:
“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal”.
So, from this scripture, we discover that the treasures we get from our jobs and employment should be stored in heaven. So, some of the treasures we will find in Heaven will have come from us while we are here on earth. This is quite interesting.
Our heavenly stores are filled from the earth by people who possess treasures and are willing to store them there. That’s No. 1 truth to show you how powerful your job is.
So from your job, you get access to treasures. And the Lord wants you to store treasures in heaven by yourself.
I have brought up this point to show you, that your job is not a joking matter. And God wants all your treasures safely kept because they represent your life spent at work.
> > That life you have spent at work represents the time you have lived on the earth,
> > > > that time you have lived on the earth is represented by your treasures stored in heaven.
Amazing!! This makes your job even more important. That is why in the days of Job, God offered him and his job maximum security. All Job’s wealth was secure and the devil complained to God. In Job 1:9-10 it says:
“Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, Doth Job fear God for naught? Hast thou not made a hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he has on every side? Thou hast blessed the work of his hands and his substance is increased in the land”.
This protection was in place because Job was at work. And through his work, treasures came, and he stored them in heaven. In Job 1 verse 5 he used to offer sacrifices to God early in the morning. And that’s how he stored his treasures in heaven.
We don’t throw money into heaven. God has a system through which we store our treasures in heaven. This is through faithful tithing according to Malachi 3:10, sacrificing to God’s kingdom according Psalm 50:5, taking care of the poor according to Matthew 6, giving to our parents according to Ephesians 6, and many other ways.
This is how we store treasures in heaven. So, someone is jobless, and lazy, if he or she gets to heaven, they will check their stores, and see what they stored there. If there will be nothing……..
Now, the apostle Paul brought it out in a very powerful dimension:
In I Corinthian 3:13-14 it says
“Every man’s work shall be made manifest for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by the fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.”
The Lord opened my eyes to see that the treasures we lay up in heaven, represent our work. And when the end comes, this will be the work to be presented before God. Again, we see work here. Every man’s work which he did here on earth will manifest in heaven by the treasures we laid up there. Beggars will manifest, teachers will manifest, preachers, the great and the small, and all of their work will be tried by fire.
And we know that when fire gets to gold or silver, it will just refine them.
But it if gets to wood, or stubble or hay, this fire consumes all of it. What kind of treasures are you storing up in heaven? Your job is very important. Your job determines the quality of your treasures. The apostle Paul said, ‘he who sows sparingly, shall also reap sparingly’. Also he said, ‘what a man soweth, he shall reap’.
You cannot lay up trash for treasures. If you are jobless, what treasures are you laying up for yourself in heaven? You are not just wasting time there, that job is a channel for your heavenly rewards, treasures and wages. That’s so amazing. Make sure your treasures are in form of gold, silver and other very precious elements.
Because many brethren don't have respect for their work, all the treasures they get, they mismanage them, and are not faithful to God. So, the treasures remain here on earth and into heaven they store stubble, wood or hay.
Another powerful revelation concerning your job, is what Jesus spoke about in Mathew 6:21 and it says:
“For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."
If your treasures are remaining here on earth, so is your heart. And sad to say, moth, rust and thieves will corrupt, will break in and steal your treasures plus your heart. Its good you have a job, but your treasures are only kept safely in heaven. This is so crucial because even your heart is stored where your treasures are stored.
That’s why you find so many brethren, slide back to the devil’s kingdom. They no longer have time for God. They are busy storing up treasures for themselves down here. And thieves keep on stealing, until they become unemployed, and even die. This should not happen to you. Begin to see your job as God given. Do it with all respect. Use it, to store your treasures in heaven.
This means that a brother or sister just working anyhow, will end up any how. Of course, in Heaven there will be other surprises but, the beginning of it all, are the treasures you store in heaven while you are on earth.
This is very important, you don’t just store treasurers there, remember you are storing your heart as well. Ah, see where you started! - that your job is like your life - that to be jobless is to be lifeless. I don’t mind the kind of job you are doing – it’s very important.
Now, again Jesus said, in Revelation 2:7, 11, 17,26; 3:12, 21,21:17:
“To him that overcometh will I give…”
That while we are on earth, Jesus encourages us to work and not to faint. This is because in heaven there will be rewards to be given to his children. While we work, all the temptations, all the trials, the discouragement, the persecutions that come, should never make us to give in to the devil.
The devil wants us to quit our work, but when we refuse his bribes, the enticements and all his wiles and tricks, we will be rewarded in heaven. This emphasizes the point that work is very important. What ever work you are doing, you should know the devil hates it.
Dealing with a Thief
We need to deal with a thief concerning our jobs. There’s a thief around your life.
Friend, it’s time to wake up and address this issue around your life. When you got born again, you became a new creature. The old things passed away and all became new for the very first time. Everything around you is new. Your life, your joy, your peace, your dreams, your prosperity, etc., all things are new.
Your employment is a new thing and it came from God. There’s a thief who wants to steal it. He does so by stealing your health, your peace, your promotion and he won’t easily let you enjoy what belongs to you. Unemployment is what he wants you to have all the days of your life till you die.
In Isaiah 53:4-5 it says,
“Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God and afflicted.”
From this scripture we learn that our Lord Jesus paid the price for all that we needed in life. He paid for our transgressions with his wounds; He paid for our iniquities with his bruises; He paid for our peace with his chastisement; he paid for our healing from all diseases with his stripes.
Friend, what a price! Have you ever asked yourself this question: If only it had been you to pay such a huge price for any one, and then saw the same person not receiving the things you paid for; how would you feel?
Now Jesus paid such a price! An incredible price.
In 2 Corinthians 5:21 it says:
"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."
So Jesus became our sin, that we may be the righteousness of God. This is awesome price. And so many scriptures confirm the above I have just written for you. They confirm the truth that Jesus paid the price in full for you to be free.
So that as you are working you will have no fear at all standing before the Lord. God sees you as righteous because of what Jesus did. When Adam sinned he was no more righteous. He lost the Garden. But you, Jesus is your righteousness. You cannot lose your garden.
In 1 Corinthians 6: 20 it says:
“For you were bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your spirit, which are God’s.”
Friend, we were bought with a price. I love another word, which says that we were redeemed. In other words, we were bought from a slave master the devil.
That price is
> > for you to be able to work,
> > to be employed full time,
> > to be promoted while others getting retrenched,
> > its for you to enjoy the garden again.
> > By that you glorify God with your spirit.
In Galatians 4: 4-5 it says:
“But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.”
Our Lord Jesus redeemed us, he paid a price for our freedom and he set us free. And by the Holy Spirit we were adopted as sons and daughters of God. While we are in our gardens, we work there as sons and daughters not just servants. See the difference between us and Adam? Our relationship with God is like that of a father and a child. We were adopted and we are employed as children of God.
In verse 7 it says:
“Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son: and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.”
Amazing!! We are now working in the Garden of God as sons and daughters not servants. We are also called heirs of God. This removes all doubt that we will ever be thrown out of the garden again. Thank God for Jesus.
Now friend, I want to come to the point which is burning in my heart. I am sure you are now convinced by those scriptures that the day you got born again, you were redeemed also, that, the price was paid in full. Through wounds, bruises, punishments and stripes, our Lord Jesus delivered the full price to our God.
And now we can work without any fear. Our jobs were secured heavily.
The devil has nothing to demand of you concerning your life and your employment. On the cross Jesus said that it was ‘finished’ what? Yes, it was paid. The devil received his full payment for all the suffering he caused us. Jesus disarmed the devil and destroyed him totally.
In Hebrews 2: 14-15 it says:
“For as much then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil: And deliver them who through fear of death were all their life time subject to bondage.”
Oh! Praise the Lord! From God’s word we know that Jesus destroyed the devil. That devil that attacked us in our gardens. Who deceived nations and made them unemployed. We also know that Jesus delivered all who were bound through fear of death. As far as we are concerned, there should be no more bondage, sickness, failure, etc., to anyone who is in Christ Jesus. Or else, the payment was wasted.
Ever since I got born again, it took me so long to get such information, and when I got it, it came short of what I really needed. You should know you were delivered from the liar and murderer, that wicked unemployed angel.
I wanted to know, if the price was paid, why I was still in bondage, in fear, etc. Why were things so contrary to what I knew? So I began a search into God’s word.
Friend, God opened my eyes to see what I had never seen before. The Lord let me know through his Word that, the price was paid in full, and, that, we were freed truly, but that we had not taken time to know the kind of person, the devil was. That’s why most children of God are still in rags like the prodigal son before he came back to his father. That’s why children of God are sick, they fail, they are thrown out of their jobs, plus all this joblessness.
The secret the Lord revealed to me was: THE CHARACTER OF THE DEVIL.
In John 8:44 it says:
“….He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there’s no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. “
This is the scripture that opened my eyes.
It was that day that it clicked, and I began to know the person of the devil and his character. I know that you know that he is a liar, but have you ever taken time to think about it? The devil is a liar! A liar! He won’t let go! He can’t accept the truth! He is a liar and a father of it! He authors it!
As much as Jesus paid the full price, the devil keeps denying. He never accepts our freedom. Because he is a liar through and through. Now why did Jesus pay such a price and yet he knew the person of the devil very well? Well, it is because he loved you and me, and that’s what could be done.
So when my eyes opened to this truth, I asked myself a very serious question: WHEN JESUS PAID THE PRICE IN FULL WAS THIS ALL HE COULD DO?
And the answer is: Yes! That was all that was needed. And it is true he gave the full price. So then what else can be done?
Friend it was here that I discovered something that made me dance the whole day. I got this revelation while ministering healing to one of my daughters in ministry. Now the secret is you have to know how to handle the devil.
Now in the natural world, in our social settings, let’s find out how they handle liars, or a thief. Naturally, when you find someone stealing, you will raise an alarm and soon people will gather from all over the place and without delay, the thief is apprehended, and the beating starts.
Thieves are handled mercilessly. Even the scripture says in Proverbs 6: 30-31 that:
“Men do not despise a thief, if he steal to satisfy his soul when he is hungry; But if he be found, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the substance of his house.”
Friend, the thief stole because he didn’t have, and was hungry. Well, if caught, he loses everything, all his property. Yes, this is true in the world, in our cities and villages.
It’s also true with the Word of God that a thief must be handled mercilessly and must lose everything he possesses. Now how is a liar handled? Of course with a liar you become so aggressive if you will ever get anything from him. You refuse every excuse, you resist all his lies, you reason him out with the truth.
Well, some do accept but some don’t. Anyhow, you have to be aggressive with a liar. A lying person can’t be trusted with anything. You always have to find someone reliable.
So this is the way we should handle the devil. Just like you handle a liar in the natural world, so you should handle the devil in the spiritual world. Begin to handle him as a thief, as a liar. Its true Jesus paid for your freedom, your healing, your abundance, but the devil won’t just let you have what is your own.
He will never accept the truth. He will keep on lying to you. He will keep on stealing what belongs to you. UNTIL YOU RISE UP AND HANDLE HIM ROUGHLY.
Friend, except you are not tired of that thing in your body, that thing which keeps you crying every night, that sickness, that poverty, that marital problem which has stayed for years, that unemployment which made you get stuck in lack - must be viciously attacked.
Now it is your turn to rise up and take up that liar, that thief by a storm with the truth of the Word of God. I tell you, the day I discovered this, I shouted and jumped up and down filled with great joy and excitement. I got to know that my employment will always come under attack, but its up to me to stand up and refuse the devil’s lies.
It is you to rise up and begin to handle that spiritual liar the way you would handle a natural liar. He needs buffeting, he needs reasoning, and he needs to be burnt with truth. You see these days they lynch thieves. It is what you need to do. Now let’s go into the scriptures and discover what it says about this roughness with a liar.
In James 4:7 it says:
“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
Listen! What is to resist? It means to oppose by force; it’s the use of force against in order to prevent the advance of something; it’s antagonism. Friend this is the English dictionary definition. But the Word of God uses it when it comes to handling Satan. To resist the devil therefore means to oppose him, in order to prevent him from advancing by force, not negotiations.
The Bible has clearly said that we are not to submit to the devil but to resist him. And that, he will flee. Now the Word of God cannot lie. When you resist the devil he flees. If you rise up today and begin to resist him, he will flee from you.
The only way you will enjoy what God has in stock for you is by RESISTING THE DEVIL. Handle him roughly. He wants you to become unemployed. He wants to steal your garden from you. You should not just look and begin crying to God. Get up and resist him.
Now, I have seen so many children of God crying to God for deliverance asking him to send redemption. They ask God to drive the devil away. But Jesus did exactly that two thousand years ago. Everything was paid at once.
Now you need to rise up and begin to resist those lies, resist the thief, resist the devil. And when you do that he will flee from you. He will leave you alone, he will begin to avoid you. He will get out of your garden. He will recognize you. You will begin to be a menace to him.
Stop that fasting for finances, begin to resist that poverty, that ignorance, that lack of wisdom. Handle them roughly. Now let me show you another scripture.
In 1 Peter 5: 8-9 it says, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.”
According to the above scripture, to resist the devil is not done anyhow, here’s how it must be done if it will work. It is cardinal that we be sober. This means that you shouldn’t be under influence of anything beside what you are convicted of. To be sober means to be serious in thought, to be temperate; it means avoiding drunkenness. You can’t resist the devil if you are not sober. Sobriety is what it takes to resist the devil.
You can’t resist the devil when you are drunk with his lies. To be sober means to be above the influence of the devil’s lies. No drunken man ever fights any war anywhere. Have you ever seen drunken people fight? I have ever.
When he wants to fold a fist, he can’t because he’s drunk. When he aims at the head, he misses, he is so inaccurate. He can’t talk straight. A drunken man can do nothing. Actually it is an offence, if you drive a car when drunk. And now how much more when you are face to face with a liar? You ought to be sober.
That’s not all. You have to be vigilant. That’s what the Word has said. You have to be vigilant, militant and aggressive as you resist the devil. He has stolen so many people’s jobs in the world. To be vigilant is to be awake, to keep watch. This means that at a time when every one is asleep, you keep awake. Don’t let him. Be militant. Attack him as the church of Jesus Christ. The gates of hell shall crumble in pieces.
Actually thieves come in the night when every one is asleep. So is the devil. In order to resist him you have to keep awake and to watch spiritually.
Friend, things don’t just happen. You need to be awake and watch in the word of God. So many blessings have passed by you, so many opportunities have gone, you would be a millionaire by now. That sickness would have left you long time ago.
Remember, Jesus paid everything for your garden, your health, your wealth, etc. So you need to be sober and vigilant in order to resist that liar and thief.
Another secret is that we don’t just resist the devil by shouting at him, or abusing him, or calling him names. No, We resist him stedfast in the faith. The resistance must be stedfast, must be constant, it should be persistent BUT IN THE FAITH.
This is a powerful secret. We resist the devil in the faith, in the faith. It is the only thing that overcomes the devil. Our faith is the language we use to resist him.
Now faith comes by hearing the word of God. So to resist him in the faith is to resist him by using God’s Word. Jesus is our greatest example. In Luke 4, when the devil came, he didn’t waste time with grammar, or abuses, He simply resisted him in the faith. Jesus always said “IT IS WRITTEN…” to every temptation that Satan brought up. After these temptations the scripture says in Luke 4:13 that:
“And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.”
And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season. And I love this scripture. Do you know it’s the only one of its kind? Most men of the Bible, whenever the tempter came, they failed always. But for the first time, the devil met a ‘man’ among men. Jesus handled the devil roughly. He never allowed any lies, he was sober, very vigilant, and he resisted the devil in the faith, in the word of God. Satan had to flee.
He will flee from your job. Your finances are going to change from this day. The joy of the Lord is about to cover your life, you will never despair again. You will never be unemployed one day. These scriptures opened my eyes to this powerful truth.
That, until you take possession of your position, the devil won’t let you. That, until you become violent, resistant, vigilant, the devil cannot let you inherit your blessings. Jesus did all he had to do. And, it’s now your time to take care of yourself.
The reason why there are so many struggling Christians is because they don’t know the character of the devil. He’s a liar, a thief, he is a murderer. He wants to steal your job. Until you rise up, he will keep you down. Keep up the violence, be sober, never be under influence of the devil’s lies or sin and think you can win.
Anyone under his influence is on his side. This is why your confession should be according to the word of God. But when you say that, you are sick, that you are poor, that things are bad, that, you have no job, that’s not the word of God.
From today deal with that thief. Get back that job which he stole. Always handle him roughly using the word of God. I see you succeed in your garden.
God’s Principle of Substitution
This is one the revelations which have helped me a lot. The principle of substitution is God’s principle. Well, in the natural world, we see it in playing teams. One player may not be performing well, or he has been injured during the game. What normally happens is that someone else is called into the place of the non-performer or the injured one. That one we call him a substitute. This is done to allow the play to continue. So that one person should not stop the whole game.
Well, it’s not so in games like boxing, where the rule is one on one. History has recorded many boxers who didn’t even finish the first round. At times, it’s a knockout, and the opponent falls down never to rise. If he fails to stand up at the count of a certain number of times, he is disqualified and the game has to end there. That’s the natural world.
Friend. God has a substitution principle, which has been working since creation. Through this principle God’s ‘game’ has gone unstopped; His intentions have come to pass. Through this principle, God has not failed totally. Through this principle, God has kept me going, though times that appeared very hard. Through this principle, God has kept me humble, and yet filled with a mind of dignity. I believe as I share it with you, the same will happen to you.
You will begin to charge forward, even when no one else is going with you. You will go extra miles. You will give to God that which you have never given. This principle opens your eyes to see God’s great plan for your life as a ‘big game’, so, you begin to be careful how you play your role. The Bible has clearly laid down certain instructions as to how we can play in life and play successfully.
So as far as God is concerned, working as a Team Manager, he is confident of you, he knows you have all it takes to make the best player. Well, I am using the language of games, but of course I am talking about the life of a Christian. I have talked a lot about God’s garden. I have talked about joblessness and the horrors of it.
Now let me share with you this great principle of substitution.
You know very well the story of Lucifer who later became Satan. He was created perfectly. He was holy and beautiful, until iniquity was found in him by (the Team Manager) God.
In Ezekiel 28: 15 it says,
“Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee”.
So there it is. One of God’s playing team members was found playing foul one day. Iniquity was found in him. But in verse 13 of the same chapter, God tells that Lucifer was in the garden of Eden, garden of God. So after he was found with iniquity, God had to remove him from the team. Jesus said in Luke 10:18 that, he saw Satan as lighting fall from heaven.
So, this clearly shows us that God removed Lucifer from his position and therefore from his team. Though Satan remained a creature he lost his position. Now, here comes the principle of substitution. In Gen. 2:7 it says:
“And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”
So, here we see the creation of man. God created him after his image, after his image, after his own likeness. In Gen. 2:8 it says:
“And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.”
From this scripture I learnt that something went wrong with the Garden of Eden that God had talked about in the book of Ezekiel 28:13, where Satan used to be. And actually I got the understanding that man must have been the substitution in this garden. For in Ezekiel 28:13, Lucifer was in the garden of God in Eden. So, it’s clear that God was replanting this garden. It’s also clear that God put man in this garden as a substitute.
In Gen. 1:28 it says;
“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth,…”
So, this replenishing must be a pointer to a substitute. So, man came in after Lucifer fell to carry on God’s great ‘game’ in life. Adam started off in the garden of Eden, where Lucifer had been. So God removed Lucifer from his presence and replaced him with man.
So we learn that God’s work, or play, or game cannot be stopped by the non-performance of an individual. That if someone begins to be in question, to develop thoughts of evil, that, someone is near to be removed than to be left to stay.
The day iniquity was found in Lucifer, was the day, he was dismissed. So, God wants people to work in his garden but according to his instructions. God wants people to work in his garden as long as they are bringing profits and not losses. God wants people to work in his garden as long as they are not with iniquity. This is a powerful discovery. God is not a respecter of persons. He honours those who are faithful.
In Gen, 3:1-7, the serpent, the devil or satan came and tricked Adam and Eve into eating of the forbidden fruit. After they had eaten, they realised that the devil had lied to them. They did not become wise, their eyes opened to their nakedness. In Gen. 3:8, God came looking for them and they took cover. They were naked. Iniquity had entered; the very iniquity which rendered Lucifer jobless!
In Genesis 3:8 it says:
“And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day. And Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.”
Friend, the man God had put as a substitute for Satan, had fallen also. So, God comes again as the Team Manager, to check out his performance. God found iniquity in man. When he enquired, the devil had instigated this fall. So, the Lord cursed the devil, the serpent above all cattle. You can read Genesis 3:14.
Friend, remember we are sharing the principle of substitution . After man had fallen, God had look for a substitute, man also had to leave the garden. In Gen. 3:15 we see something terrific here. God did not just give up the team, he didn’t just close the garden, though he sent man out of it and guarded the way to the tree of life.
In Genesis 3:15 it says:
“And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”
Hey, friend, why did God turn to the woman? It’s because man lost his position and God now turned to the woman and her seed. God had now removed man from the job. Adam was the one now in charge when the serpent came in to trick them.
So, God came in with his principle of substitution. He removes the man from the front-line and places the woman and her seed. God put enmity between the serpent and the woman and her seed.
Don’t you see that he had now removed the man? Friend, this humbles me. God’s work cannot stop, His plan may fail for a moment, but it can’t be defeated.
And from here, God sent Adam and Eve out of the garden. In Genesis 3:23 it says:
“Therefore, the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.“
Friend, this opened my eyes to see that God is a God of substitution. Just in case you are standing in his way, or trying to hinder his work, there is always a substitute. And this humbles me.
If God sees that I am no longer performing as I used to, may be I have abandoned my first love, then I can see myself on my way out. Just like a Team Manager goes to that spot where non-performance has been cited and gets it fixed, so even God does the same. As he walks towards the spot, behind this Team Manager, is a substitute following.
So, God told the serpent in the presence of Adam, that enmity now was between the woman with her seed and the serpent with his seed. It was no longer the man. So from here, the story goes on from Genesis to revelation. As the big life ‘game’ goes on, we see people playing foul, and God as the Team Manager coming in with substitutes. All those who thought they could do
whatever they wanted, instead of God’s instructions always met their fateful end. But I will cite a few examples – to show the truth of it. Friend, whatever God has given you to do, do it with all your strength and knowledge. May the Lord always see you fit and never incompetent. Take that job seriously.
In the Bible we find a story of a very great man of God called Moses. He was chosen by God to take the children of Israel out of Egypt out of slavery, into the promised land, that God had sworn unto Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to give.
At the age of 80 after Moses had seen much of life, first as the son of the daughter of Pharoah, and second as a shepherd in the wilderness. And Moses saw the glory of God in the burning bush and he also saw his own rod turn into a serpent at the very first encounter with God. Right there God told him to lead the children of Israel out of slavery. Moses agreed, and went back to Egypt, where God mightily displayed his power by the miracles he did through him.
So Moses led the children of Israel out of Egypt. You can read this very exciting story in the book of Exodus from chapter 3. But before Moses led the Israelites through Jordan into the promised land, iniquity was found in him. Moses disobeyed the Lord and did what the Lord didn’t tell him. Moses ended his journey at his very first step of disobedience.
In Numbers 20:11-12 it says:
“And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice and the water came out abundantly; and the congregation drank, and their beasts also. And the Lord spoke unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.”
Friend, substitutes didn’t begin with football teams. It started long time. There, he was Moses had failed. And God came in right there and then, and told Moses that his position had to be changed. Remember Moses missed just one instruction. He disobeyed just once.
Let’s quit disobedience – now. Friend, don’t miss any of God’s instructions. So, Moses went before God and enquired about his successor. And God had already found the successor.
In Numbers 27:18-20 it says:
“And the Lord said unto Moses, Take thee Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit, and lay thine hand upon him; And set him before Eleazor the priest, and before all the congregation and give him as charge in their sight. And thou shalt put some of thine honour upon him, that all the congregation of the children of Israel may be obedient.”
Joshua came in as a substitute, not because Moses had grown so old, he fell sick, no, it was because he missed God’s instruction. What is that instruction you are missing? What standard has God set for you, but you are still falling under? Better wake up, and rise up now before your position is taken. Joshua came in as a substitute and Moses never took the children of Israel to the Promised Land. Even though God had appeared to
him in a burning bush, and though Moses performed unspeakable miracles. He never finished his work. You will finish your work in Jesus’ name.
Friend let me give you another example. And this was during the days of the great prophet of God called Samuel. Time came when the children of Israel rejected God’s direct rule and preferred a King. So the prophet went before God, and the Lord chose a King to be over his people. And this was Saul. One day God gave prophet Samuel instructions for King Saul. In Samuel 1:2 it says:
“Thus saith the Lord of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt. Now, go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have and spare them not, but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.
This instruction was very clear. King Saul had been told to kill and to destroy everything. God said, ‘spare them not.’ It was clear. Little did Saul know that any miss on this instruction was at the cost of his throne. So when he went to battle he spared some of the animals, he spared King Agag, he spared some for sacrificing to the Lord.
In I Sam. 15:9 it says
“But Saul and the people spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, and the oxen and of the fatings, and the lambs, and all that was good, and would not utterly destroy them: but everything that was vile and refuse that they destroyed utterly.”
Friend, the next verse says Samuel cried to the Lord all night being grieved. God told the prophet that he was changing his mind over Saul. He could be king no longer. He had failed. Iniquity was found.
Friend, may you not miss on God. The prophet went to meet the King and told him in I Sam. 15:28 we read:
“And Samuel said unto him, the Lord hath rent the kingdom of Israel from thee this day, and hath given it to a neighbour of thine that is better than thou.“
And this is very surprising. Saul never knew that it could take only one wrong step to miss his kingship. Saul could never imagine anyone better than him, except his son may be. But someone there was a little boy who became the substitute. Saul lost his position in the ‘job’.
Friend, from this day take care, to never, never miss on his instructions. What’s that thing you know and you are not doing? Just go ahead and do it. Missing out on God is missing out on your destiny! It was from this time that misery and Saul became companions. In I Sam. 16:1 it says:
“And the Lord said unto Samuel, How long will thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? Fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Bethelehemite: for I have provided me a King among his sons.”
Wow! God had already located a substitute, a successor. It was David a little shepherd boy. God found himself a substitute. Friend, make up your mind. To become a substitute, but never to be replaced because of incompetence. You have to do God’s work faithfully, not with eye-service.
I want to close this chapter with the woman and her seed. When Adam fell, God told the serpent that enmity was between him with his seed and the woman with her seed. The man had left the scene here. He had been substituted. The only person that God saw bruise the head of the devil was the seed of the woman.
That’s why it was a virgin who conceived Jesus. Unlike Zecharias and Elizabeth who brought forth John the baptist. Mary while still a virgin conceived by the power of the Holy Ghost. Our Lord Jesus is the seed of the woman who came to bruise the head of the serpent. Jesus is therefore the perfect substitute for Adam.
Paul the apostle said that Christ is the second Adam, the gift of God, one who brought life and removed sin. Jesus our saviour was faithful to the end, God never found him incompetent.
So, if God has given you any assignment, any job, just do it whole-heartedly. Don’t let go.
Remember, our team manager has substitutes behind him. All those who are playing foul will be substituted, no matter the fame. Friend, stay faithful. Whatever the cost, be ready to meet it, that God may say to you: ‘Well done thou good and faithful servant’.
All the slothful and wicked servants are thrown into outer darkness where there is gnashing of teeth. Never, never allow substitution for yourself. Stay vibrant. You will not miss your position in God: Your lot will be secured forever in Jesus’ name.
I wish you the very best at your job, and if you don’t have one, get ready to retrace your steps back into the garden.
Retracing Your Steps Back Into the Garden
So far friend, we have established so many truths. That our portion is not joblessness, the enemy’s number one intent is to make every body jobless. But the truth also is, the devil wants everybody out of their jobs, and out of the garden of Eden, the place of abundance. If he can get you out of abundance, he can easily control you, manipulate you and later abuse you.
We therefore want to find out, how we can retrace our steps back into the garden of Eden, the place of abundance, the place where our jobs are. In this place we are fully employed. We have all we need. It’s God’s plan for us to be there.
Now, let’s check this out. Are we able to go back to our gardens? Is it possible for someone to discover his or her garden? Right there in Genesis 3:15 it says:
“And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shall bruise his heel.”
This scripture is about the coming of Jesus Christ our Lord. When He came, He bruised the head of the devil.
In Heb. 2:14 it says:
“Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is the devil: and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.”
So, that’s what the seed of the woman, did. He destroyed the devil. He bruised the head of the devil. Jesus then delivered all of us who were in bondage because of the fear of death. When God came into the garden of Eden after Adam and Eve had sinned, they hid themselves, they were afraid, it was becauseof fear of death.
Now, when Jesus came, he dealt with the devil through the cross of suffering, through shameful death and totally destroyed him. Hallelujah, so, what used to keep us out of the garden was destroyed. We were delivered – thank you Jesus. In Colossians 2:15 it says:
“And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.”
Look what the seed of a woman did. He disarmed all the devils, all the powers. He conquered death and gave us eternal victory.
In verse 14 of the same chapter it says:
“Blotting out the handwriting of ordinance that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to the cross”.
So everything that was against us, everything that blocked our way to the garden was removed and Jesus nailed these things to his cross. He took everything out of the way to the garden. And that’s good news. The devil was destroyed, things that were put in our way were removed. So, what next? We have to walk boldly into our gardens, into our paradise. Yes, and Amen.
This is good news indeed. While Jesus was on the cross, a certain malefactor with whom they were crucified surrendered to him.
In Luke 19: 42-43 it says:
“And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.”
Friend, this is powerful. Since Jesus crushed the devil, it is now possible to get back into this garden. And how wonderful it is, that we can now retrace our steps back into this place of abundance”.
Friend, rise up now and begin moving towards your garden. It was bought back by the blood of Jesus. The enemy who stood in the way was crushed. And just like that man who was crucified with whom Jesus invited to be with him in paradise, I hear him mention your name, calling you to take your place in the garden.
Friend, that’s the mystery of salvation. It doesn’t end with forgiveness of sins, no, that’s the starting point. All that comes from sin must be dealt with, arise brother, stop crying ‘joblessness’, you are not a leper to shout ‘unclean’ wherever you go.
It’s time to go into your garden. ‘Today’ Jesus said to the man he was crucified with, ‘you will be with me in paradise’. This mean paradise doors have opened for all those washed by the blood of Jesus to enter. Joblessness ends TODAY. Someone would say, that the paradise Jesus talked about was the place where spirits of dead people gathered before the judgment. Yes that’s true. But, don’t you see that Jesus told the man while they were still alive?
He didn’t say we are going to die, then enter paradise. So, whether you are alive or dead physically, paradise doors were opened for you since Jesus died on the cross. Even today, paradise doors are still open for all those who will believe that on the cross Jesus opened those gates which closed behind Adam and Eve.
Remember Jesus said that he who dies, though he dies, he’s still alive. He didn’t say we are going to die, then enter paradise. So whether you are alive or dead physically, paradise doors are opened for you.
In John 11:25-26 it says:
“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall be live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest though this?”
Friend, do you believe that as long as you are in Jesus, it makes no difference whether you are dead or alive physically? This eternal life doesn’t begin when we are dead, but when we accept Jesus.
So, the day you got born-again, was the day your paradise doors were opened. Welcome into your paradise. Your joblessness ends outside your paradise. If the man on the cross with Jesus entered, it’s your turn.
Your garden has been prepared. Just get ready. From this day, your prayers must change. You are not a beggar. Adam never asked for the garden of Eden. It was God’s idea. And God has not changed at all. Let your prayer therefore based on this knowledge be:
Lord, I thank you for Jesus. Because he destroyed the devil while on the cross. I thank you because the day Jesus died, was the day my paradise was redeemed.
On that day, doors opened for me to enter, when I accepted you Lord as my Saviour, you told me that day to be with you in the paradise. Lord, now I am entering my Garden of Eden.
Direct my steps Lord. Show me your paths O Lord. In this garden is my job; so this joblessness is dropping off my back. In this garden there’s abundance, so lack ends today. Lord, I am happy for my job. Thank you Father. Thank you my Jesus, thank you Holy Spirit, Amen.
Please after reading through this prayer, just kneel down and pray along these lines. You have suffered enough.
Today, Jesus is asking you to enter your paradise. It’s flowing with milk and honey. In the Old Testament, the children of Israel inherited the land that God promised to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, in the New Testament all the children of God have to inherit their promised land also.
