AMY HOLMES COMMENTARY: The Westboro Baptist Church's Religious Freedom;
The conservative commentator notes that a federal judge ruled this week that the infamous church has a First Amendment right to picket military funerals with harassing, anti-homosexual chants and signs:
"Some questions: Should we, as Kathleen Parker suggests, support the Westboro Baptist Church’s ugly, anti-homosexual protests precisely because we don’t like the idea (of homosexuals) very much?
Should we, as President Obama intoned last Friday, reach deep into our national character and declare our full-throated support for the right of this religious group to set up camp at a hallowed place without passing judgment on the wisdom of the church’s activities? After all, freedom of expression and freedom of religion are our most fundamental values upon which our nation was built."
Amy Holmes continues her commentary: "Will we hear from left-wing commentators that, out of an abundance of tolerance, we must stand in solidarity with the Westboro Baptist Church (whose position on homosexuality is actually not all that different from fundamentalist Islam’s) in defense of religious freedom?
I suspect not.
I suspect that those who are now excoriating the 68 percent of Americans who are uneasy with a $100 million mosque being built two blocks from Ground Zero would discover the distinction between what is a right, and what is right.
I suspect the Westboro Church’s 'free speech' would be roundly condemned (by these same people supporting radical Islam) as, at the very least, insensitive."

Amy Holmes of America's Radio News Network made a fabulous observation Sunday concerning the New York Times and the Washington Post asking readers to go through Sarah Palin's email messages to assist them in finding dirt on the former governor.
Appearing on CNN's "Reliable Sources," Holmes marvelously concluded, "The media it seemed to me it was like they were putting out an 'America’s Most Wanted' tipline to try to find something to try to nail Sarah Palin...

Amy M. Holmes[1] (born in 1973 in Lusaka, Zambia) is a news anchor on Glenn Beck's GBTV. She formerly was an independent political contributor for CNN and has appeared on Fox News.[2]
She has also appeared on Real Time with Bill Maher several times. Holmes graduated from Princeton University with a BA in economics in 1994.
She is an independent conservative.[2]
Biography
Holmes was born to a Zambian father and a Caucasian American mother.[3][4] She was raised in her mother's native Seattle, Washington after her parents married when she was three.[3]
She has co-hosted The View[5] and co-hosted Fox News' Glenn Beck while Beck was on the road with his "Unelectable" show. She has also appeared on the HBO show Real Time with Bill Maher. She was an anchor of a morning radio program syndicated by the Washington Times newspaper called "America's Morning News". She has appeared with Cenk Uygur on MSNBC Live.
After working for several years for Independent Women's Forum, Holmes began to write Senate floor statements for Bill Frist, a two-term United States Senator from Tennessee and the Republican Majority Leader from 2003 until 2006.[6]
At present, Holmes is anchor of the news desk – branded The Blaze – at Glenn Beck's GBTV.
