Cambridge System of Theological EducationCambridge System-2, INTRO: What is Scriptural Ministry Training?The "Jesus Christ and Apostle Paul" Type Bible SchoolDear Pastor, Missionary, Fellow-Laborer: Following is an actual email sent to a very good Minister friend in a third-world country, who didn’t quite grasp the New Testament Philosophy of Bible Colleges - as the "Bible Schools of Jesus Christ and Apostle Paul" to train Ministers.
> > imitating and following Harvard and Yale . . . instead of Jesus and Paul; > > copying and duplicating the worldly secular model, instead of the inspired, Scriptural model of Christ and Paul > > adopting worldly standards, practices, methods, words, titles definitions, practices; > > accepting worldly, secular, anti-Christ standards of what isworthy of a "proper education" or not; > > seeking worldly "accreditation" . . . recognition and acceptance; > > seeking worldly "dollars and grants" . . . like prostitutes willing to sacrifice whatever principles and honor it takes TO GET THAT MONEY!!!; > > My Christian Fellow-Labor: Why do we Blood-bought Believers - who are commanded to "come ye out from among them . . . be ye separate, touch NOT the unclean thing . . . be not unequally yoked with unbelievers, . . ." approval, > > Most Christian Colleges today in this “lukewarm era” wear worldly recognition and accolades as "badges of honor" . . . instead of scars of shame . . . Back to our Third-world LeaderHe had two disciples of whom he was fully capable of training for Ministry over 3-4 years just as Jesus trained Peter, Andrew, James and John, and as Paul trained Timothy, Titus, Silas and Luke. Yet this excellent Minister was asking us to give them an “artificial, ‘modernistic’, man-man, non-scriptural, Ministerial educational” of studying (1) Grammar & Composition, (2) Hebrew Language Studies, (3) Greek Language Studies, (4) Systematic Theology, (5) Hermeneutics, (6) Homiletics, (7) Eschatology, (8) The Millennium: “Pre, Post & A”, (9) Doctrine of Election, (10) Speech (11) Thesis Research Paper (12) Sacred Music & Hymnology, (13) Praise & Worship Music, (14) Church Administration, (15) Pastoral Ethics, (16) Church Law, (17) Early Church History, (18) The Protestant Reformation, (19) World-Religions, (20) Funds & Finances, (21) Ministerial Tax Law, (22) Christian Psychology, (23) Pastoral Counseling, (24) Children’s Ministry, (25) Youth Ministry, (26) Music Internship, (27) Conducting Weddings, (28) Conducting Funerals, We am not finding fault with this list of "subjects per se", as I, personally, have either taught or taken almost all of them . . . what we are pointing out is very simply:
* * Ignoring which Jesus did, and COMMANDED to do, * * * Teaching things Jesus never mentioned - thus "straining at gnats" Jesus called it, * * * * Leaving out Christ's major teachings and practices (thus "swallowing camels" Jesus called them) This brother, like thousands of others, wanted SOME ONE ELSE to teach "his disciples" all of these things from half-way around the world . . . without ever meeting the men . . . giving them a “one-size-fits-all” distance program, of completely impersonal education by “Online Classes” . . . . . . with no capacity to TEACH AS JESUS DID! > > unable to personally take them soul-winning; > > unable to personally pray with them by the hour, and some times all night; > > unable to personally preach for them and to them; > > unable to personally TEACH & EXPLAIN Christ’s Principles - His Parables - great secrets, hidden from the foundation of the world! > > unable to personally APPLY Christ’s Principles - His Parables - great secrets, hidden from the foundation of the world to every day life in their presence! > > unable to personally counsel others while they listened; > > unable to personally rebuke Pharisees, Sadducees, and Lawyers (modern-day cults, secular skeptics & scoffers, Politically Correct cultists, etc., while they listened; > > unable to personally deal with the sick and hurting while they listened, “laying on hands” and “anointing with oil” as Scripture commands; > > unable to personally spend daily time with them, in their real, day-to-day life as Christ did His Disciples for three-and-one-half-years, from 1,000 to 1300 days in succession!
We are simply referring to him “Prospective Bible-College Founder” - which you may be as well! Dear Brother, and Prospective Bible-College Founder: We do not do "independent ministerial studies online" - completely "disconnected" and separate from a local Church function and personal training “one-on-one . . . by a successful and dedicated minister” for a Master‘s Degree. Someone, who is discipling these men (he had asked this Master‘s Program for two young men called into Ministry), needs to MENTOR them, see what they need, and teach and train them accordingly. > > Those who do "train Disciples" in the many Cambridge Seminary Satellites world-wide, may use ALL of our materials, some of our courses, or none of our courses. That decision is up to them. However:> > When YOU - Prospective Bible-College Founder - or whomever is fulfilling the role for these two young men as Jesus trained His Disciples, or Apostle Paul trained Timothy, Titus and Silas, etc., when YOU (or that person - says they are ready for the Master's Degree, and sends us copies of their transcripts and records your training of them - we will award the Degree. > > We need GOD-CALLED-MEN to have local Church Ministry, which MUST include a Jesus-and-Apostle-Paul-type Bible School - to train Ministers, and who ever has such a ministry is preferably the one who got them saved, under whose preaching and teaching they were called and discipled . . . This personal teaching and training in preaching, praying, discipline, soul-winning, rebuking, correcting, etc., IS NOT WELL DONE ONLINE and from a distance . . . but MUST BE ONE-on-ONE . . . as Jesus and Paul did!
Dear Prospective Bible-College Founder: PLEASE understand that a "True-Bible-School-Training" of Ministers is ONE-on-ONE as Jesus trained Peter, James & John . . . praying with them counseling daily, witnessing with, rebuking, holding accountable, . . . And like Apostle Paul trained Timothy, Titus, Luke and Silas This can neither be done Scripturally or successfully online . . . nor in a typical seminary . . . by College Professors who are as follows: > > [1] do NOT preach true God-given sermons, > > [2] do NOT teach the priorities of Christ and Paul > > [3] do NOT win souls personally and consistently > > [4] do NOT pray all night, and do NOT fast and pray, > > [5] do NOT lay hands on the sick and anoint with oil > > [6] do not stand and weep over their cities, broken hearted for those they have not been able to gather, > > [7] do NOT practice ‘Christian-Civil-Disobedience‘, . . . and obviously do NOT disciple their converts because they have no converts! Truthfully, every “Bible college Professor should be limited to “teaching and training their personal converts! We challenge all readers! Can you find just ONE SEMINARY . . . anywhere on planet Earth, where young men are trained for Ministry for three-and-one-years in the spiritual traits of the above list as Christ trained His disciples, with THE MAIN PASTOR-LEADER devoting three years to each person being trained??? Now you see why Christianity is struggling and failing so mightily . . . as we DO NOT train anyone for Ministry properly! The modern Seminary System is a complete failure and does not train successful pastors. In fact, it is negative as it usually destroys any original zeal the “called men” may have had. Obviously, completely Roman catholic 1,500 years removed from the Bible Colleges of Jesus and Paul! Christ was with His Disciples for 1,000 days in succession . . . In person!
"YOU" . . . Dear Prospective Bible-College Founder . . . or whomever is going to over-see the young men preparing for Ministry - must understand true Disciple training! Discipling is NOT a Course of Study!!! Jesus never read to, with, or asked His Disciples to study ANYTHING!!!!! Jesus TAUGHT THEM IN PERSON, how to preach, teach, Disciple, witness, counsel, pray and Shepherd . . . and He expected them to MEMORIZE His teachings! Training for Ministry: . . . IT IS NOT JUST READING BOOKS written by ‘Mere-Men’, taking tests, getting grades, and believing what ever the “school-denomination” SAYS to believe! Prospective Bible-College Founder: you must grasp this . . . and your questions - until now - shows you have NOT understood the Scriptural Method of Bible School.Otherwise you wouldn't be saying you are waiting on us to “teach-&-Train’ online from a distance . . . as we are waiting on you to TEACH & TRAIN THEM! They are your disciples . . . not ours! DO YOUR SPIRITUAL JOB!
These young men are in India . . . I am in the USA . . . do you see I cannot POSSIBLY train them for Ministry as Christ and Paul did?
IF we simply make "preparing for Ministry" the reading of a few books - mostly “ Straining at Gnats and SWALLOWING CAMELS” - don't you see this is what has KILLED evangelism (and Christianity) in the western World?
My Brother! We have 50,000 Baptist Ministers and 50,000,000 Baptists in the USA, and all of them together - "reading books and discussing GNATS" were unable to win even as many converts as the number that died last year! WHY? Traditional Seminary Training and Bible School DESTROYS Ministers for effective Jesus-&-Paul type Ministry . . . . . . and only trains them for straining gnats - not making converts and disciples!
My Brother! We are hoping you are "YOUNG ENOUGH" to see the errors of my generation - .and CORRECT them for the young men you are training for the NEXT generation!. We are hoping you can help a NEW MOVEMENT of .True, First-Century Ministry Training Principles in that part of the world . . .. . . . and not be content to be a "PROFESSIONAL CLERGY" . . .more concerned with "salary and retirement" than "Winning Souls and Revival!”.
Please my Brother . . . will you at least take enough time to answer this email and show us that YOU DO understand a Scriptural Ministerial Training School and desire to have one?.
YOU must decide if you will go the "SCRIPTURAL GOVERNMENT" way or the "SECULAR GOVERNMENT WAY" . . . Is it JESUS . . . OR . . . CAESAR?. We cannot please and serve GOD & MAMMON . . . .it is God "OR" Mammon!!! I realize the desire for "recognition, status, prestige, reward, money,” etc., is a powerful call . . . ESPECIALLY when one like yourself is capable of great secular, worldly, success! This is why God is unable to call and use so few who are truly gifted and intelligent . . . they cannot resist the call of the riches and status of the world! *** My Brother! We are hoping you understand what we at Cambridge Theological Seminary are about with Scriptural training of Ministers . . .and what God is doing all over the world in an EXPLOSIVE way (it took us 36 years to have 5,486 Churches to affiliate with us . . . And . we added over 14,000 Churches just in 2009!) We hope you will always be a Satellite of Cambridge Theological Seminary . . . that we can Ordain, Credential, provides courses, support, backup, Degrees - all form the USA all of your life.
