[A] They don't tell you that there all kinds of "Partial Ordination" with as many steps and stages as anyone cares to design. So they give you a little slip of paper, "a Receipt of Ordination", but it is worthless . . . except to preach & pray in your own home!

[B] They don't tell you the "Legal Document of all Ordination" (in the USA) is called a "Letter of Good Standing". This has three considerations.

Thus for some "Online Group" to give you a "Receipt" or even if your purchase a "Certificate" saying you are an "Ordained Minister" . . . it means NOTHING in the USA, it does not allow you to do Hospital or Jail Ministry, weddings, funerals, etc., and it is not recognized as legal in any state.
To do Hospital or Jail Ministry, Baptisms, Baby Dedications, "New Birth Certificates", Weddings, Funerals and sign the "Legal Documents" connected with these events, you have to do as follows:

[4] In many states (not all), you also have to get a License in the county where the wedding occurs, BELIEFS the License from the county where you live. (Be sure to check your area, or the "Wedding isn't valid" and you could have a Lawsuit on your hands!
[5] In a few states you have to get a "State License" from the State Capital, and in many large cities you have to get a "City License" in addition to the County or State (they do this to raise funds - Las Vegas, Miami, New York City, etc.).

If they try to have a "wedding" they find out from their County Clerk, that they MUST present a current "Letter of Good Standing" to purchase the county License. . . . ans since the Newly Ordained person is "Financially Invested" with a Certificate on their wall from the XYZ Company. . . they go back and BUY the "Letter of Good Standing" at "Premium Prices.

What they know from experience is that most newly Ordained Ministers will plan to "officiate their Best-Friend-or-Sister's Wedding, and all the announcements will be sent, and THEN you learn you can't get the LICENSE without a "Letter of Good Standing" and that takes 6-10 weeks . . . but the wedding is in two weeks!
