Really seeing the world around you, and asking questions about why things work the way they do, who benefits and who does not, is the way into looking "from below." For this, you can do no better than to read Jesus' Sermon on the Mount. For all Christian liberation theologians, the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth are central, even pivotal, and none as important as Jesus' longest sermon. (Luke 6: 17-59). As Jesus teaches at the end of that sermon, it's not good enough to just keep saying the word "Lord," you need to actually follow the teaching and take care of the poor. === The point is not just to say "Lord, Lord," but to know that people are hungry and feed them, know that they lack shelter and house them, know that they are mistreated and stop the violence. That's liberation theology. === "Liberation Theology:"In a nutshell, Liberation and Communism are exactly the same EXCEPT: > "Liberation Theology" uses God and Guns in terrorism, stealing goods from people who work; > "Lenin's Communism" uses Guns without God in terrorism, stealing goods from people who work; === Truth about Jesus, the Liberals Refuse to admit!NOTE: Jesus NEVER said "take care of the poor" as the Professor above either misquotes in ignorance or misunderstands in blindness. Jesus said, don;t waste you money on the poor when you can use it on a "Memorial for Him," because you will ALWAYS have the poor with you! There will always be lazy people who will not work, who want their wives and Churches to feed them so they can be fat and watch TV. Amazing Insight[NOTE ASIDE: Jesus Himself as a "Cultural Christian" as Jesus never started a "local Church with local members" any place He ministered: Galilee, Nazareth, Capernaum, or Jerusalem. Furthermore, Jesus never built or rented a building or any kind, never held scheduled services of any kind, never did music or even mention the word. Jesus never did any of the things that seem so important to day. > Never visited any one sick or in prison - not even His cousin John the Baptist ion death row; > Never officiated a wedding or funeral or baby dedication, > Never attended Bible School or seminary, and never started any; > Never started a Bible study and never told anyone to start one; > Never bout and passed out Bibles or told anyone to do so, > Never fed one hungry or homeless person or told anyone to, > Never gave a handout to any homeless or poor person or told anyone to, > Never helped one person to get a job, > Never started a "food pantry: or "clothing bank"; > Never gave away camels to those who had none, > Jesus was also NOT non-violent! He took a whip He made himself, and whipped the moneychangers of the temple, kicked over their tables, damaged some goods, and chased away their animals; > He also did this without, seeking counsel, asking other's evaluation of His plans, without talking to the offenders, without giving the offenders "another chance", without preaching or praying with them, without tears or pleasing them to do right, or even thinking it over a while: > He acted on His own, immediately, without asking the law or Temple police, without warning or second chance and He used violence . . . > And Jesus did this on THREE OCCASIONS! > NOTE: Jesus was man enough to do this! Since he was destroying their "easy-income" the moneychangers would have beat Jesus to death - had they collectively been "man enough to do it" - but they obviously were not! > Jesus' last advice to His disciples was to "get a personal sword", even if they had to sell their coat to buy one - [and it wasn't a "Dress-Sword" to make their uniform complete!].

If you read carefully, Matthew 25 is a judgement of Nations - not individuals - and they would earn a place in the Eternal City (or not) by helping, feeding, and assisting those of Jesus' Brethren, the disciples as they went into new nations taking the Gospel as Jesus commanded in the great commission. Nations can earn a place in the Eternal City and bring their glory into it - amazingly - Scripture clearly says. Revelation 21:24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. Re 21:25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. Re 21:26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the NATIONS into it. Thus those nations that receive and bless Christian Missionaries shall be greatly rewarded compared to the Muslim and Communist nations who slaughter them , persecute, and let them rot in prison. Jesus never fed or helped a lazy bum in any fashion and He never said to! In fact, Christ insisted the opposite: If a person will not work, they shall not eat! Thus we see that Jesus as a "Cultural Christian" did not of the things so important to day, and told no one to do them Thus most modern ministries are a complete waste and confuse what true Christianity really is.
