God is Looking for Lay Leaders: Lots of them!

[I] For most of History, when God has needed something done, He has turned to "lay people" - not the professionals - whether they be prophets, priests, kings, ministers, or miscellaneous!

[1] Noah, a Preacher of Righteous and builder of the Ark, was a layman. Themost prestigious of "Professionals" - if you recall - built the "Titanic!"

[2] Abraham, Father of God's People, was a layman and herded sheep.

[3] Isaac was also a layman, and was a crop farmer.

[4] Jacob, (a thief) was a layman, s herdsman & crop farmer.

[5] Joseph, (imprisoned) was a layman, started as shepherd and became a "household-manager"

[II] Jethro, was a Priest of God in Midian, but God was not able to use him to free the Israelites from Egypt.

Likewise, Balaam, was a "professional Prophet" who consorted with Kings people of wealth. Yet God was unable to use

[6] Moses (son of a slave, and a murderer) as a layman, led the slaves to freedom,

[7] Miriam, sister of Moses, (raised as a slave in Egypt) became a leader of women in Israel, a prophetess and leader of Praise & worship.

[8] Aaron (also a slave in Egypt) was a layman who became the first High Priest.

[9] Joshua (also a slave in Egypt) was a layman who became leader of his Tribe, a great Military General, Judge and forerunner of Jesus.

[10] Kaleb (also a slave in Egypt) was a layman who became leader of His tribe aa Military Officer with Joshua.

Aaron's Sons were raise with all of the advantages and professional religious training Aaron never had: yet they achieved little and two brought such disgrace to God's People that He slew them.

Moses' Sons likewise were raised with all of the spiritual and professional religious training Moses never had: yet they achieved nothing in the Kingdom of God and God was unable to use them to lead in the next generation after their father. One of Moses' grandson's became an idol worshiper.

Instead of the likely well-trained just mentioned, God used

[] Jael was a laywoman
