Daniel 2:31 Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible.

Note the image - worldly idol - is one, though it represents four kingdoms. It is one idol representing all kingdoms that rule the known world, and they all flow from one to the other. Basically, there are only two kingdoms:

> God’s Kingdom

> all others in rebellion to God

Daniel 2:32 This image's head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass,

Daniel 2:33 His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.

A great error is made here in that most writers on modern prophecy make the following errors. They assume that:

[1] “All of the leg” represents Rome

[2] They use the full length to magnify the importance of Rome and the kings that follow

[3] They assume that Rome began from the hips and “divided into the well-know Western Empire of Rome, and the Eastern Byzantine Empire of Constantinople.

[4] While this division of the Roman Empire did occur and is important in history, it has nothing to do with this prophecy, and has no bearing on this revelation of God, not the statue nor how it affects the future as far as God and His Plan are concerned.

[5] They ignore on purpose - or simply miss - that the third Kingdom of Greece is represented by “his belly and his thighs of brass” in verse- 2:32

[6] Thus the “legs” representing Rome in the fourth Kingdom are as follows:

> just the lower legs

> are a divided kingdom from the beginning

> are not to have any significance made of the Eastern and Western split in later centuries.

Daniel 2:34 Thou sawest * till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces. Please note that Daniel is seeing “until a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image” in verse 2:34

Daniel 2:35 Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces (8754) together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.

Daniel 2:36 This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king.

Daniel 2:37 Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.

Daniel 2:38 And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold.

Daniel 2:39 And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.

Note each succeeding kingdom is condsidered ‘inferior’: this is not in length of time, money or military might but in absolute God-like authority.

[1] Nebuchadnezzar, King of the Babylonian Kingdom had complete authority over man and beast, with authority unquestioned for 43 years, as the Gold Kingdom.

[2] The second and inferior kingdom, the Medes and the Persians - had developed more rights for citizens and laws were becoming more important than dictators’ whims. Thus we still have the saying today of a law being “like a Law Medes and the Persians” when something can’t be altered.

Thus Daniel could not be rescued from the lions den even though the Persian King wanted to rescue him: the law did not allow him. In the Gold Babylonian kingdom, Nebuchadnezzar could have rescued him and changed the law in a second, without the least opposition.

[3] Greece, the third and even more inferior kingdom from dictatorial authority point of view, had even more laws and more rights of citizens against abuse of power, thus they gave rise to the “ekkesia” and the democratic system of Athens and their cities.

[4] Rome, the fourth and most inferior of the four world kingdoms, had iron-clad citizen rights such as even apostle could not be punished without trial, imprisoned withput charges made known, had right to personal appeal to the Caesar himself, and no matter what, could not be crucified, which was only for slaves and no-citizens.

Though their military was the largest and strongest, and they ruled the longest, their citizens had the most rights against their Kings, thus they were considered inferior, from that standpoint.

Daniel 2:40 And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.

Daniel 2:41 And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.

Daniel 2:42 And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly * * strong, and partly * * broken.

Note here again is great error and misunderstanding about the clay and iron and feet and toes, and the kingdom being partly strong and partly broken.

FACT: The kingdom was ALWAYS divided, from the very first: king v. senate, king’s rights v. citizen’s rights, king’s decree v. approved law.

FACT: Rome was ALWAYS legs and feet! (See Dan 2:33 below)

FACT: The feet were ALWAYS iron and clay! (See Dan 2:33 below)

Daniel 2:33 His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.

FACT: The feet do not FOLLOW the Roman Empire, they are part of it from the first day! (See Dan 2:33 below)

FACT: The toes do not FOLLOW the Roman Empire, they are part of the feet from the first day! (See Dan 2:33 below)

FACT: Whatever the iron, clay feet and toes represent - partly strong and partly weak - CHRONOLOGICALLY, they are always within the Roman Empire, they are part of it from the first day! (See Dan 2:33 below)

Gross error and wild speculation comes from making the feet and toes, to be something that FOLLOWS the Roman Empire, rather than being part of the empire from Day one!

Just like the statue’s arms are part of the silver Kingdom, and the upper arm, lower arm, hands and fingers are ALL part of the silver kingdom from day one. Than hands and fingers do Not represent what happened after the Silver Kingdom fell.

Likewise the feet and toes of the Iron Kingdom, they are part and parcel of the Fourth Kingdom from the first day, and are NOT character traits that arise following the end of the Empire.

FACT: Rome, the partly-iron-and-partly-clay Empire, the partly-strong-and-partly-broken Empire, as always this way. That’s why God’s Word considers it the most inferior of the four kingdoms, and represents it by the lowly iron, instead of the precious metals.

PERHAPS MOST IMPORTANT FACT: The Roman Empire, did not end BECAUSE it was partly-iron-and-partly-clay, partly-strong-and-partly-broken, but rather because it was SMOTE by the “Stone was cut out without hands”, Daniel 2:34

The Aramaic word translated “smote” - Mecha' (Aramaic) (mekh-aw'); Verb, Strong’s Lexicon # 4223 is defined as “to strike, smite, kill”

FACT: Thus the great mystery as to why the Roman Empire fell - the inquiry of endless Ph.D. dissertations - is none of the popular Ivy League hypotheses, but rather, it was conquered and defeated by Christianity!

Daniel 2:43 And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves * with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.

Daniel 2:44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

FACT: God says this statue represents four [4] world-wide kingdoms and only four [4]. There will never be a world-wide ruler after Rome except Jesus Christ

FACT: The Muslims never have, and never will rule the world.

FACT: Neither Hitler nor Napoleon ever had a chance to rule the world.

FACT: Neither Communism nor the United Nations will ever rule the world.

FACT: God says this statue represents the only four [4] world-wide kingdoms - enslaving and abusing people by the millions, and He smote the kingdoms empowered by the dragon, killed it, and guaranteed there will never be a world-wide kingdom or ruler after Rome except: Jesus Christ

FACT: Thus it should have dawned upon you that there is no world ruler called “The AntiChrist!”

will ever rule the world.

FACT: It is in the days of this Statue, in the days of these kings, God sets up His Kingdom, that John the Baptist came preaching: “The Kingdom of God is at Hand!” . . . and Jesus said The Kingdom of God is here, the kingdom has no doubt come upon you, and the Kingdom of god is within you, within your midst.

FACT: Perish the Anti-Christ Myth!

Daniel 2:45 Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter *: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.
